The newly-launched initiative, Vote Assyrian, looks to register thousands of Assyrian-American voters as the 2016 presidential elections near. The Chicago-based activist group is seeking volunteers willing to serve as deputy registrars. This is a great way to make a difference.
Registrars must be trained by the State of Illinois in order to be certified to register other citizens. Vote Assyrian will host its deputy registrar training at the Assyrian American Cultural Center on Saturday, January 23, 2016. More details can be found here.
Vote Assyrian hopes to build a team of 40 deputy registrars. All those interested in serving as deputy registrars should send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org or contact Reine Hanna at (847)274-7653 or Ramsin Benjamin at (773)416-0219.
